Right Click Test

Check that your right mouse button works, then see how many right clicks you can make in five seconds.

How fast can you right click in 5 seconds?

Right click the box as fast as you can. The timer starts on your first right click. The browser menu is turned off inside the box.

Two jobs in one test

This page does two things. It confirms that your right mouse button registers, and it measures how fast you can right click. In this version only right clicks count. Left clicks are ignored, so you cannot pad the score with the other button.

Normally a right click opens the browser menu, which would get in the way of a speed test. Inside the test box that menu is turned off, so every right click goes straight to the counter. Outside the box your browser behaves as usual.

Checking that the button works

Start with a slow check. Right click once inside the box to start the five second timer, then right click a few more times at an easy pace while you watch the click counter. Each press should add exactly one. If the counter skips presses, the button may not be registering reliably. If it jumps by two on a single press, the switch may be producing unwanted double clicks.

For a closer look, the mouse test counts presses for every button, including the middle and side buttons, and keeps a time-stamped log of each one. That is the better tool for tracking down a fault.

Testing your right click speed

Once you know the button works, go for speed. Your first right click inside the box starts the timer, and the display shows the time left, your clicks and your live CPS. After five seconds you see your clicks per second to one decimal, a rating, your click count and your personal best. Right click scores keep their own history, separate from left click results.

Right clicks are usually made with a different finger from left clicks, so your two scores can differ. Run this test and the main CPS test in the same session and compare. If speed is all you care about, the right click CPS test focuses on that alone.

Getting a clean result

  • Keep the pointer inside the box, since a click outside does not count.
  • Rest your finger on the right button before your first click.
  • Keep your grip loose and let the finger do the work.
  • Stop if your hand or wrist aches.

Right Click Test FAQ

Why does the right click menu not appear in the test box?

The test turns off the browser right click menu inside the box so each press counts as a click instead of opening a menu. The menu works normally everywhere else.

Do left clicks count on the right click test?

No. Only right clicks count in this version. Use the main CPS test for left clicks.

How do I know if my right mouse button is faulty?

Click slowly and watch the counter. A press that does not register, or a single press that adds two, points to a worn or failing switch, and the mouse test gives a more detailed log.
