A typing game that is just a web page
On a shared or managed computer, you often cannot install software. This race needs nothing installed. It is an ordinary web page that runs in any modern browser on a laptop, desktop or phone. There is no download, no plugin, no extension and no account to create.
Press Start race, wait for the 3, 2, 1 countdown and type. Your car moves with each correct letter, three computer cars drive at 25, 40 and 55 WPM, and you get your place, words per minute and accuracy at the end.
About school and work networks
Being a plain web page does not mean every network will allow it. Schools and workplaces choose which sites their networks let through, and we have no control over that. We cannot promise this page will load on any particular school or work network.
Follow your school or workplace rules. If the page is blocked and you think it would help with typing practice, ask your teacher or IT team whether it can be allowed. Do not try to get around a filter.
Why it suits a short break
A race is short. With a passage of about 55 words, the Fast car at 55 WPM finishes in about a minute, so even a slower run will not eat into a lesson or a work break. Results are not saved and the race asks for no personal details, so there is nothing to log into and nothing to clear up afterwards.
It is also useful practice, not just a distraction. Each mistake stops your car until you fix it, which nudges you toward accurate typing.
Choose a race
Three versions of the race run the same way, with different speeds:
- The standard race on this page, with cars at 25, 40 and 55 WPM.
- The typing games for kids race, with two short sentences and opponents at 10, 16 and 22 WPM.
- The fast typing games race, with cars at 50, 70 and 90 WPM.
