Overwatch Aim Trainer

An independent browser warm-up for Overwatch players. Best for flick aim, less useful for tracking.

Hit 30 targets as fast as you can.

A target appears somewhere on the board. Click or tap it and the next one shows up right away.

An independent warm-up for Overwatch players

This page is an independent browser tool. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Overwatch or its publisher. It is a flat 2D board, not a copy of the game. Press Start test, click 30 round targets as they appear one at a time, and after about 20 seconds you see your average time per target, missed clicks and accuracy percent.

Two kinds of aim

Overwatch has many heroes, and they do not all aim the same way.

Aim styleWhat it asks of youHow much this drill helps
FlickSnap to a target and land one well-timed shotA lot. This is what the drill repeats
TrackingKeep your crosshair on a moving target over timeVery little. The targets here never move

Many heroes need some of both, so treat the split as a guide.

Why flick style heroes benefit most

A flick has three parts: see the target, move to it in one motion, click on arrival. The drill is 30 of those in a row, each at a random distance and direction. Every missed click is counted, which exposes the most common flick mistake: clicking before the pointer arrives.

Start with a run where nothing misses. Then speed up while keeping accuracy above 90 percent. With a mouse, 500 to 619 ms per target is average and 350 to 419 ms is fast.

Why tracking heroes need in-game practice

Tracking is a different skill. You have to match the speed and direction of a moving enemy and stay on them. A board of still targets cannot teach that. If your hero depends on tracking, use this page to loosen your hand, then do your real practice inside the game against moving targets.

This drill also has no recoil, no 3D view, no abilities and no way to match your in-game sensitivity.

A short routine before a match

Do four runs before you queue: one slow and clean, two at full pace, and one more clean run to finish. Keep your pointer speed and browser window size the same each day so the numbers in the Your scores panel stay comparable.

More warm-up drills are on the aim practice page. The FPS aim trainer page lists what does and does not carry over to shooters, and aim training has a longer routine.

Overwatch Aim Trainer FAQ

Is this an official Overwatch aim trainer?

No. It is an independent browser tool. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Overwatch or its publisher.

Does this trainer help with tracking heroes?

Only a little. The targets stand still, so it cannot train you to follow a moving enemy. Tracking has to be practiced in the game.

Which Overwatch players benefit most from this drill?

Players who rely on single, well-timed shots. The drill is a series of flicks to still targets, which is the closest match to that style.
